| Triathlon Events | |
Below I have listed some events, which the club could attend next season. Open water events www.f3events.co.uk This is a series of events at Dorney Lake near Windsor (site of the 2012 Olympic rowing event) and it is about an hour & twenty minutes drive from Cirencester, less if the traffic is light. Completely flat traffic-free course but can be windy. Upton-on-Severn – A river swim, down stream which is great for setting a new 1500m swim P.B. Fairly flat bike, flat run with some off-road. Cotswold Sprint – Triathlons based at the water parks, duathlons in Cirencester Park. Also a ladies-only race in June (normally). Pool based swims Westonbirt – Corsham – Malmesbury. www.dcleisurecentres.co.uk All of the above events took place last year (2008 season) but I have not received the 2009 British Triathlon handbook at the time of writing so check out the web site given for any changes. I know some race organisers were thinking of putting on extra events and some of cancelling their event.
