Yvonne Binks had the following letter recently printed in the Wilts & Glos Standard:

I would like to thank everyone who so generously sponsored me to run the London Marathon in April. I was delighted to hand over £2,026.56 to the charity Hope for Tomorrow, a mobile chemotherapy unit which is based in Tetbury, but visits Cirencester every Wednesday. So many people have benefited from this valuable service. So, once again thanks to everyone, not forgetting my running colleagues at Cirencester Athletics Club who trained with me.

Chloe Cox has written to mention an event coming up. On Tuesday 28 July at Lake 32 there will be another fund raising event for Sean Doherty. This will comprise an Ironman swim, open water challenge swim and mini time trial for runners. More details can be found on a www.friendsofsean.org.uk Chloe says that it would be great if members of the running club could join in for the evening.

Chloe also reported on a triathlon recently held at Dorney Lake for the property industry. Two club members competed on a corporate basis with Diane Moore winning the FV40 category and Chloe Cox just three minutes behind. The weather was fantastic and the lake so hot that wet suits were banned, which was, apparently, a shock to most people as they had never swum in a lake without one.
