Adrian Williams and Alice Thomas are the 2009 Cirencester AC road race champions, both gaining enough points in the series ending Stroud Half marathon to confirm their titles. Adrian was content to pace Matt Shannon to a fantastic new personal best of 1.19.44, finally cracking the 80 minute barrier after several near misses. Adam Harborrow produced a solid time of 1.23.35, whilst Mark Sysum and Ian Pople were just outside 90 minutes and Mark Langman gained the verdict in a tight finish with Bob Ferris. Liza Darroch was first Cirencester lady home, finishing second in her age group, whilst Alice Thomas broke 2 hours in her first outing over the half marathon distance.
Meanwhile Ed Morris had an excellent run at the Snowdonia Marathon, his time of 3.54.59 fully 15 minutes quicker than last year. Martin Croucher headed to Portsmouth for the Great South Run, completing the 10 miles in 1.10.14.

Ian Pople took up the challenge of the Leicester Marathon on behalf of local charity Hope for Tomorrow, and overcame a tough last few miles to set a club age group record of 3.25.53. The Swindon Half Marathon saw an epic tussle between Matt Shannon and Adam Harborrow, with Matt just proving the stronger to finish just one place and 17 seconds ahead. Steven Kell also ran well to record a time of 1.38.44. Jane Wassell was Cirencester's lead performer at the opening fixture of the Gloucestershire Cross Country League, finishing 9th in the ladies race, just ahead of Jane Thomas who finished second junior lady. Christina See completed the ladies team who finished 13th, whilst Dorian Matts ensured the club were represented in the Men's race, finishing 126th.

The challenge for the club road race championship will go down to the final race of the season with Adrian Williams gaining maximum points at the Cricklade 10k to close within striking distance of long time leader Steve Elverd. Just two weeks after his Berlin Marathon, he enjoyed a comfortable run to finish third, whilst Adam Harborrow was just behind in fifth after an excellent race. Trudy Compton dipped under the 43 minute barrier in finishing third lady, whilst Fred Robson broke the club V75 record with his time of 59.34. Meanwhile, Rupert Chesmore completed the Great Clarendon Marathon in a time of 4.47.23, whilst Liza Darroch finished the associated Half marathon in 2.10.41.
